According to my iron and steel network news, on the afternoon of May 12, the China Ferroalloy Industry Association Manganese Professional Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Manganese Committee) held a video conference. 40 manganese member units across the country participated in the meeting, calling for comprehensive self-help in the industry and strict enforcement of restrictions. , reduce production by 50%.

The meeting pointed out that at present, the whole industry of manganese alloy products is losing money, and the sales are facing great pressure. On the one hand, the spot market price of silicon-manganese alloys keeps falling. This is mainly due to the large-scale production restriction and maintenance of steel mills, the continuous weak demand for manganese alloys, and the continuous low price of silicon-manganese futures.

On the other hand, the production cost of manganese-based alloys has risen sharply, mainly due to factors such as the high price of imported manganese ore and the continued high price of coal char.

The 40 manganese alloy manufacturers participating in this conference have a monthly production capacity of 1.2 million tons. The Manganese Committee called on these manufacturers to strictly implement the monthly production reduction of 600,000 tons, and at the same time reduce the monthly purchase of 1.2 million tons of foreign mines.

The Manganese Committee discussed that this measure can alleviate the serious surplus of manganese alloys, thereby reducing losses caused by vicious competition within the industry.
